In Sundsvall, we find the world’s fourth ever IKEA store, which coincidentally celebrates 60 years this year, as we also celebrate that our founder, Ingvar Kamprad, would have turned 100. The 1,000 km down to Bölsö, the Kamprad family farm outside Älmhult, is a way to honour his legacy, stopping in many places where IKEA has made an impact, and ending in a place that was very close to his heart, and where much of the Ikano and IKEA spirit still lives today.

Last year, all our amazing donors helped us raise a fantastic EUR 130,782 to Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation. We’re eternally grateful for all your generous donations, we wouldn’t have been able to do this without you! Now, we’re hoping to beat this amazing result, enabling us to make an even bigger donation to the vital cancer research funded by Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation at Lund University Hospital. Just like previous years, Ikano doubles every donation made.

In addition to our colleagues cycling across the country, we’re involving colleagues across all of Ikano. Just like last year, we’re organising hikes in all our businesses, where Ikano will make an additional donation of EUR 40 or 20, for every 10 or 5 km hike. We’re also adding a new plank challenge this year, we’re Ikano will make a donation of increasing size, depending on how many minutes you can hold a plank. The minimum donation is EUR 10 for one minute, up to EUR 50 for anything above five minutes.
