The year in brief – Poland
- Production of a new foam mattress collection for IKEA.
- We advanced our project to process post-consumer mattresses in partnership with Ingka Investment and RetourMatras.
- A new facility was opened in the Netherlands for chemical recycling and RePoliol production. Our target is to recycle 1,000 tons of foam from used mattresses per year.
- We opened a brand-new production line for RePoliol, made from leftover foam.
- Our Green Mattress Project Team headed a research and development project focused on product life cycle thinking (cradle to grave).
- We donated 6,000 mattresses to emergency relief organisations for Ukrainian refugees, and together with the Ikano Group, we donated more than 30,000 mattresses to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
- Our Ikano Indemo team consisting of technical design engineers and automation specialists finalised the construction of our automated mattress water gluing line for gluing 3-layer foam for IKEA and EMMA mattresses.
- Hot melt gluing technology was installed at two spring mattress production lines in Krajenka.
The year in brief – Mexico
- An onsite day care facility was opened to help colleagues manage their work-life balance. It has day and night capacity for up to 300 children.
- Ikano Industry in Mexico is growing dynamically with production start of 7 new mattress models and 6 sofas. We are ready to produce up to 20,000 mattresses and about 1,000 sofas per week.
- We produce our own polyurethane foam, non-woven fabric and springs.
- Our EHS team inaugurated the Safety Dojo, where we provide safety and maintenance training to all co-workers.
- Our medical facility added nutrition and physiotherapy services for all employees who may need it.
- All our plant buildings obtained LEED certification. In Mexico, only six buildings have this certification, and three of which are ours.
