Ikano’s commitment to the many people

As Covid-19 cases started surging in 2020, we decided to support with EUR 1.5 M
for emergency relief allowing all our Ikano businesses to take immediate local actions.

More than EUR 750,000 was spent on 32 local initiatives to help some of the most vulnerable during the pandemic, and with more ideas and actions in the pipeline for 2021.

Our co-workers everywhere have done amazing efforts. From building 145 IKEA shelters in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines and Mexico to clinics, resting areas and isolation areas to helping child cancer patients in Norway. Our Ikano Industry colleagues in Poland sewed and donated thousands of masks, and we have donated numerous IKEA products to women’s shelters across Germany and migrant workers in Singapore. We even broadcast ourselves reading bedtime stories to vulnerable children who struggle even more in times where social isolation is required. Just to mention a few!

“We set out to define what we, together as the caring group of companies, could do during this difficult situation to support those who needed it the most. It was essential to act fast and where it made most sense.”
