Megabangna’s MEGA welcome to 2023!
Covid-restrictions had rained on Megabangna’s usual New Year’s Eve count-down over the past two years. This time, celebrations in East Bangkok were back in full swing to welcome 2023 – and what a mega celebration it was!
Mega Countdown 2023 was one of the top three destinations in Bangkok to spend New Year’s Eve, attracting more than 32,800 people and livestreamed to over 250,000 viewers.

Seven famous singers and bands entertained the crowd together with a DJ set to get everyone dancing, while fireworks and a light show lighting up the Bangkok skies at midnight. The guests could also visit special booths with activities and games that would drive membership acquisition for our Mega Smile Rewards programme, with over 800 new sign-ups during the party.

The overall turnout saw 361,200 visitors on the day itself, making December 2022 the highest footfall month of the year where Megabangna welcomed 5.3 million visitors! The event generated a buzz on social media and received 75.6 Million Baht (approx 2.1 MEUR) worth of media coverage, making Megabangna the talk of the town. With the support of our communities, we are grateful to be able to reclaim our role as the place to be every New Year’s Eve.
