Ikano Industry aims to be the preferred supplier of mattresses as well as other foam-based and upholstered products to IKEA businesses and other partners on the global market. Our focus is on quality and sustainability in everything we do and we continue to develop a fully circular offer. Our company culture, characterised by teamwork and innovation, leads us forward.

The year in brief

Circularity 

  • We initiated RePoliol production in Mexico, incorporating 510,945 tons of reused foam scrap 
  • As part of joint venture project with our partner RetourMatras, in 2025 we recycled 1,854,181 mattresses 
  • Our partner RetourMatras expanded to France, with a new facility capable of processing 750,000 mattresses per year 
  • In a joint project with IKEA, we’ve been testing hemp fibres in search for more sustainable materials 
  • We’ve conducted promising tests of plant-based alternatives for polyols, such as natural oil polyols, that reduce environmental impact without compromising quality 
  • In our foam production, we used 7.2% of reused foam in Poland 
  • We reduced the volume of waste in Mexico by 11% per kg of product 
  • We used 100% renewable electricity in both Poland and Mexico 
  • In Poland 10% of the energy was produced onsite and in Mexico 11% 
  • We implemented measurement equipment to improve energy efficiency in Poland  
  • We continued our preparation for expanding PV installation in Poland and implementing in Mexico 

GHG Emissions 

  • We reduced scope 1 & 2 emissions in Mexico by 88% vs. baseline 2022 
  • We launched the LCA project, starting to calculate the environmental footprint of our products 

Co-workers 

  • 42,6% of leading positions were held by women: (MX 25%, PL: 52%) 
  • Women account for 59% of employed co-workers in Poland  
  • We subsidised 48,844 meals for co-workers in Poland 
  • More than 100 of our co-workers’ children in Mexico attended our Ikano daycare 
  • In order to improve Health & Safety we implemented 85% Log out Tag out 
  • We successfully implemented the ISO Management System:  9001, 14001, 28000, 45001 in Poland and in Mexico we are preparing for the certification 
  • We achieved Level One in the Bradley Curve (Safety Culture Improvement) in Mexico 
  • We spent over 5,000 hours on health-promoting activities during Health Week, ranking first among all businesses in the Group 

Charity & Planet 

  • As part of our charity activities we supported local communities struggling with social exclusion, hunger, educational barriers, deforestation, and cancer. We helped young people being at risk of a mental health crisis and girls struggling with menstrual poverty. We reached 2 000 people in Poland and Mexico, improving and transforming their lives by our charity projects. We donated mattresses to vulnerable groups and supported animal shelters. 
  • As part of Ikano Climate Week we conducted workshops for co-workers to raise awareness of the 6R principles, culminating in a contest for the best idea on how to apply these principles in everyday work. We engaged co-workers in interactive activities about 6R. 
  • In our factory in Mexico 120 m² of chemical-grade epoxy coating has been applied to prevent subsurface contamination 

Value Chain 

  • We received the Bronze Award in Shell Chemicals and Refining Most Valuable Partners, in the Innovation/Sustainability category
  • As part of our due diligence process, we launched sustainability self-assessment among our suppliers to better recognise our impact on people and environment throughout the entire value chain
