The year in brief
- Robert Jaaniste retired as CEO and Carola Lavén was appointed new CEO for Ikano Bostad.
- Daniel Skoghäll retired as working Chairperson and was elected as an external board member. Mats Håkansson was appointed new Chairperson of the Ikano Bostad board.
- After a challenging 2023, when the market slowed down, it gradually began to recover and we sold 276 homes.
- The occupancy rate in our rental apartments remained high, although some areas experienced high tenant turnover and low occupancy rate.
- The customer satisfaction in our rental homes remained high, with a service index of 82 out of 100.
- Helped 60 students with their homework through our support to Stiftelsen Läxhjälpen.
- Our head office in Stockholm moved to new premises.
- Invested approximately SEK 50 million in energy optimisation measures.
- Made energy savings of 650 MWh and reduced the average energy consumption in our properties.
- We launched our largest solar power system to date and implemented a range of energy measures, including heat recovery, geothermal heating systems, energy storage, and upgraded control systems for heating and ventilation.
- We reduced our carbon emissions and exceeded the targets for both multi-family and single-family terraced houses.
- Began the construction of 38 terraced houses with a significantly lower climate impact in Malmö. The houses are made of wood and utilise ground source heating and solar panels for energy. Materials such as CO₂ -neutral insulation, recycled steel components and reclaimed bricks are used.
- Decided to transform a former town hall of 17,000 m2 in Høje Taastrup into modern apartments by converting it instead of demolishing it, saving approximately 7,500 tons of CO₂.
- Continued our work with the Ikano Academy, which celebrated 10 years. Since 2014, we have helped 135 youths change their lives – from social exclusion to work or education.
By using low-carbon concrete, we reduced emissions by
127 tons of CO2
equal to 50 passengers’ return flights between Stockholm and New York
