We’ve completed our 11th Health week
Once again our co-workers have come together to collect health hours for a fantastic cause. We’ve hiked together, we’ve planked together and gone that extra mile together to be able to make a donation to this year’s selected charity.
What a week it was
In total 3,424 co-workers from across Ikano have spent 13,363 hours focusing on our mental and physial wellbeing, enabling us to make a full donation to this year’s charity, Abrázate con Amor.
Abrázate con Amor is Mexican organisation that supports women facing breast cancer, providing them with spaces for emotional support, comprehensive wellbeing and community. Among other things, they’ve provided more than 600 silicone breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomies, as well as oncological wigs and lymphedema sleeves, and emotional, practical and material support during treatment. The support from Ikano means that they will be able to generate an even stronger impact on the lives of women with breast cancer, helping them through both treatment and recovery.
In addition to collecting hours for a good cause, we also hiked and planked for an extra donation to Mrs. Berta Kamprad’ Cancer Foundation, in addition to the donation made through the Ikano bike fundraiser. Our planks and hikes enabled an extra donation of EUR 55,990 and showed us that we have a surprisingly strong workforce where many colleagues could hold a plank for more than 5 minutes!
Ikano Bike fundraiser – another great success
The Ikano Bike fundraiser took place for the fourth time, and for the third year we raised money for Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer Foundation, and their lifesaving cancer research. Thanks to the grit and dedication from the cyclists, and generous donations from companies and individuals alike – doubled by Ikano, we managed to beat last year’s donation and could hand over a check of EUR 169,282 to the foundation.
Together with the donation from our hikes and planks, this means that our total donation to Mrs. Berta Kamprad’s Cancer foundation amounted to:
